The TUR-100 is a digital online turbidity sensor in a stainless steel IP68 housing. It goes straight into the water for long-term immersion, with no protective tube, and reports turbidity in NTU over RS485 Modbus RTU.
It measures by scattered light: infrared light passes through the water, suspended particles scatter it, and the sensor reads the light scattered at 90° to the beam. An infrared light path with an optical filter keeps ambient light out of the reading.
Key Features
- 90° Infrared Scattered Light: the reading is not affected by ambient light
- Range Chosen per Order: 0-10, 0-20, 0-100, 0-400, 0-1000 or 0-4000 NTU, so the scale matches the water you measure
- ±2% Accuracy: with stability of 1 NTU or better over 24 hours
- Stainless Steel, IP68: direct immersion, no protective tube required
- Digital RS485 Output: Modbus RTU at 9600 bps, with a 4-20 mA output available as an option
- Low Power: 0.5 W or less, on a 12-24V DC supply
- Field Correction: slope and intercept registers for a linear correction against your own reference
Applications
- Aquaculture and recirculating systems: turbidity before and after the biofilter
- Water treatment works and drinking water supply
- Environmental water monitoring
- Chemical, pharmaceutical and food process water
- Metallurgy and fertilizer process solutions
Choosing the Range
The TUR-100 is supplied with one of six measurement ranges. Pick the smallest range that still covers the highest turbidity you expect: clear process or supply water sits in the low ranges, while settling and wastewater streams need the 1000 or 4000 NTU range. Custom ranges are available on request.
Installation
Mount the sensor with its optical window at least 10 cm above the bottom of the tank or vessel and at least 3 cm from any side wall. With less space, stray reflections reach the detector and offset the reading. Keep the window free of air bubbles.
Connectivity and Integration
The TUR-100 talks RS485 Modbus RTU (default address 01, 9600 bps, 8N1), so it shares one bus with the other digital water quality probes on an Omni Genesis controller. The full register map is in the datasheet.
Why Choose TUR-100
- Range matched to the job: six standard ranges from 10 to 4000 NTU
- Built for immersion: stainless steel IP68 housing, no extra protection tube
- Steady reading: ±2% accuracy, drift of 1 NTU or less per 24 hours
- Simple integration: standard Modbus RTU registers, one bus with the rest of the station
