A dissolved oxygen meter that keeps the record for you

This kit is a portable dissolved oxygen meter built from two parts: an optical DO probe and the MobileSense adapter. The adapter plugs into the USB port of your mobile phone, tablet or PC, and the phone becomes the meter’s screen. Every reading you save is stored with the worker who took it, the time and the GPS location, so a round of ponds leaves a record without a paper log.

What’s in the kit

• DO-100 optical dissolved oxygen probe, 316L stainless steel, for fresh water. For sea water the kit ships with the DO-110, which has a titanium body.
• MobileSense adapter, USB-C, powered from the connected device.
• MobileSense app, with readings saved to Omni Cloud.

Taking a reading

Connect the probe to the adapter, plug the adapter into the phone and lower the probe to the depth you want to check. The live value appears in the app. Give it up to a minute to settle (the probe’s response time is under 60 seconds), then save. The reading shows up on the manager’s dashboard with the pond, the worker and the time.

Oxygen in a pond is usually at its lowest just before dawn, so that is the round that matters most. It is also the round most likely to be skipped or written down from memory. With MobileSense, a reading that was never taken simply is not there.

Fresh water or sea water

The two probes measure the same range with the same method. The difference is the body: 316L stainless steel on the DO-100 for freshwater ponds, tanks and RAS, and titanium on the DO-110 for sea water and marine systems. If your water is brackish, tell us the salinity when you ask for a quote and we will match the probe.

Why an optical probe suits spot checks

A fluorescent probe does not consume oxygen while it measures and does not depend on water moving past it. A reading taken in still water, without stirring the probe, is valid.

Calibration is a one-point air calibration. Under normal conditions it is needed every 6-8 months, depending on how much biofouling and algae the water carries, with regular cleaning of the membrane cap in between. The cap is replaceable, typically after 2+ years of use.

When a pond needs a probe that stays in the water

Handheld rounds tell you what the oxygen was when someone checked. A pond that keeps dropping at night needs a probe that is always in the water. The DO-100 in this kit is the same probe that mounts on an Omni Genesis controller for continuous monitoring with alerts.
